Now here’s an interesting project – use all that naturally occurring E. Coli in the gut to produce satiety-inducing hormones. Yogurt, anyone?

Sexy science but how do you build a business around yoghurt that sells less on purpose?

Ha! Well put!
Personally, I think Dannon’s Activia yogurt tastes wretched – natural yogurt tastes much better to me – but I can’t help but admire the company’s marketing campaign. Their material recommends one portion per day, with up to three portions a day for “greater efficacy.” They state that consumers can expect results after 12 days of regular consumption, and that the results will diminish a few weeks after you stop eating their product. So if you think it works for you, you’re hooked.
I don’t know many people who eat yogurt every day, much less three times a day. I hope that people who eat Activia three times a day reduce their other caloric intake to compensate!
